Sterling, VA (June 19, 2000) . . . Gammaflux L.P. will introduce software enhancements to both its 9500 Series and GLC 2k hot runner temperature control systems at NPE 2000 in Chicago, June 19-23.

New Mercury Software Provides 9500 Series Control System With Faster Operator Interaction, Increased Options for Molders
Gammaflux has developed a new software program that provides faster operator interaction for its 9500 Series hot runner temperature control system. Called "Mercury", the software provides speedier controller start-up and allows the operator to begin programming the controller immediately.

In addition to the speed of the Mercury software, it is also customer configurable. Custom configurations allow the customer to remove unwanted controller features and/or add additional features. In addition, the new software provides the user with improved graphing capabilities showing the last 100 samples of the hot runner/mold history. This allows easier troubleshooting of problem heater zones.

The Series 9500 hot runner temperature control system from Gammaflux is the company's top-of-the-line control system, featuring complete communications and report-generating capability and up to 256 zones of control. The systems feature unique Gammaflux standard software packages such as Mold Doctor, Mold Monitor, and Field Calibrator for complete mold/hot runner diagnostic capablities.

Used throughout the injection molding industry on virtually all types of applications, the 9500 Series has become standard equipment in many of the industry's leading molding facilities because of its superior temperature control and report-generating capability.

GLC 2k Control System Now Available With Current Display
Another product enhancement that will be introduced by Gammaflux at NPE is the addition of a display to the GLC 2k hot runner controller that shows Amp measurement. This new feature, developed due to customer demand, provides helpful troubleshooting benefits to the molder, including:

  • heater identification/verification
  • identification of individual heater failure, even when three heaters are
  • wired together
  • more precise evaluation of individual heater zone performance
This new option will be made available as an option to the base model GLC controller. Contact Gammaflux for availability and compatibility with older models of the GLC.
